Fundamental explores the relationships between geometry, rhythm, and planetary proportions. Its design takes as its starting point the mathematical relationship between the Earth and the Moon—1 to 7/11—which is also found in musical intervals.
This rimless design transforms these proportions into a bold, yet surprisingly light, geometric silhouette. Handcrafted in Japan, the frame combines a one-piece bridge, hinges specially developed by Massada, sculpted nose pads, and temples inspired by the work of Barbara Hepworth.
The Brushed Chrome finish contrasts with the 3.2-mm Zeiss Amber lenses, manufactured exclusively for Massada. They feature an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface and offer complete protection against UVA and UVB rays. The lenses are not polarized.
Produced in a limited edition of just 110 numbered pieces, Fundamental is a collectible frame that blurs the lines between design, art, and engineering.
